According to witnesses this is what has been happening there:
1/ A late afternoon / early evening meeting where very senior officers were briefed on the defense allegations that Professional Standards Inspector Hugh O'Toole committed the Criminal offenses of:
- Intimidating a Justice System Participant (CC 423.1 (1) b),
- Obstruction of Justice (CC 139 (2) AND (3) )
It is alleged that Inspector O'Toole sent a threatening email to Detective Grus just minutes before she was to testify - instructing her not to testify to certain documentary evidence.
2/ Delay of the start of the January 11, 2024 Hearing to enable senior OPS legal counsel the morning to assess the damage.
The sources state that senior OPS legal counsel will not only review the allegations against Inspector O'Toole, but also the performance of the Grus prosecutor Vanessa Stewart.

I hope she gets a judge that is not political or an activist. That's been a big problem with our judicial system that has come to light over the last few years.
