Interviews with Dr. John Campbell and Boris Grebenshchikov tell much about what's going on - Russians lost trust in official media long ago. British are losing it now. Plus, some Russian rock music!
In interview with GB News British doctor tells why he lost trust in main stream media, while iconic Russian musician shares his view about the war in Ukraine, and Ukrainians keep singing Russian Rock
For your listening pleasure and to cheer you up - two interviews from YouTube, and some music. Truth is coming out, slowly but surely!
If you don’t know Dr. John Campbell, don’t worry, I did not know about him either, just a year ago. Now I do and follow him on YouTube as 2,5 mil of other subscribers - check his channel to find out: https://www.youtube.com/c/Campbellteaching/videos . And just as him (as he describes it in his interview to GB News), I also originally had full trust in our main stream media (MSM) in Canada. In fact, CBC, radio-canada were my most listened to radio stations in the car. Not anymore - and for the same reason as described by Dr. John Campbell.
And just, as legendary rock musician Boris Grebenchikov, having lived in USSR and Russia, I also know that one could never believe what USSR/Russian channels. Somehow though, I find it rather peculiar and paradoxical that many people (including many Canadians) who never lived in Russia, x-USSR or Eastern Europe, apparently believe now Russian official channels even more than prominent Russians do. In fact, I do not know any prominent Russian rock or pop musician (or writer or scientist from my generation or earlier i.e. who lived in transition from USSR to post-USSR era) who have not been appalled by actions of current Putin’s administration. And I - being a big fan of Russian rock music - know and follow many of them…
So have a listen and enjoy!
Dr. John Campbell:
Boris Grebenshchikov:
And here’s his performance back in 1989 at David Letterman Late show in New York. You’ll find many more of his great music on YouTube.
My generation grew up on his songs and songs of many other Russian rock bands (DDT, Kino, Nautilius Pompolius, Machina Vremeni, Sekret, Alisa) and we still sing them - both in Russia and Ukraine, even now.
Here’s another one. It is in Russian, but you will understand what it is about from the cartoon. It is written in 1986 and is still very relevant to what Russia (USSR back then) is doing now…
