How to Convince Your Relatives and Neighbours to Make the Right Voting Choice in This Historic Election.
A Comprehensive Response to My Daughter.
My daughter wanted to vote Green, but she allowed me explain why she should vote Conservative this time. This is my response to her. Feel free to mix and match the seven (7) points below to help you discuss the same issues with your relatives and neighbours.
(NEW) See also the interview with the Award-Winning Sustainability Consultant, Shane Wolffe, on why he no longer votes for Green.
Point 1: Two Stories (1 Minute each) - “This is What ‘They’ Did to Me”…
Please take a couple of minutes to watch these two short videos and reflect on whether they resonate with your heart.
They show how government overreach under Liberal-NDP rule has deeply affected outdoorsy, nature-loving, family-oriented youth and families like ours. One is from Canada, the other from the U.S. (a van-life girl speaking about Democrats)—but both carry the same message: excessive state control that led to unnecessary suffering.
Note, I have more of such stories and related evidence on www.youtube.com/@IVIM (You may wish to subscribe to stay informed).
Point 2: Power Corrupts. This Election Is About Stopping Liberal Domination and Further Corruption
Power corrupts—no matter which party holds office. The strength of a democracy lies in its ability to change leadership when needed. The current government has simply been in power for too long. That alone increases the risk of favouritism, stagnation, and creeping authoritarianism if fresh voices and new ideas aren’t given a chance.
While voting Green may feel morally satisfying, it risks splitting the vote and helping the Liberals stay in power. If that happens, they will continue down the same path as the past ten years —marked by the outcomes shown in the videos above and by inflation levels now reaching the highest point in fifty years.
Even if you don’t support Conservatives fully, they are the only viable alternative now with a real chance of forming government. After years of increasing control, censorship, and government overreach by the Liberal government, it’s time to interrupt the cycle.
Point 3: Addressing “Conservatives are polluters” myth. Supporting oil does not mean supporting a dirty economy
You say Conservatives are polluters. Yes, they’ve historically shown more interest in Canadian oil and other natural resources than other parties. But does that automatically make them bad for the environment or for public health? Not at all.
Consider Norway (in podcast below) —a country that also values its oil industry and that now ranks as one of the cleanest and most prosperous nations in the world. Norway shows us that responsible resource development and strong environmental stewardship can go hand-in-hand.
By the way, the above podcast was written by our neighbour Jacob. He experienced first-hand how government- and union-supported rhetoric targeted unvaccinated individuals with discrimination and hate. The psychological toll on him was so severe that he considered ending his life. (You can read my interview with him in article below):
For Jacob and many others, a vote for change is not about politics—it’s about restoring dignity, dialogue, and hope.
Point 4: Addressing “Conservatives are bad for science and research” myth. Don’t you remember how they muzzled scientists and cut funding under Harper?
Yes, I know that very well. In fact, this issue is the dearest to my heart, as I am a scientist myself. In fact, I was one of those who protested in front of Parliament back in 2013 against Harper’s muzzling of scientists. I was a key contributor to the Scientific Integrity policy eventually adopted by my agency—following the pressures from my union (PIPSC).
That’s why I dedicated the largest portion of my Electoral Platform when I ran for PIPSC vice-president last year to this topic and have written a number of articles further examining this issue on my “Your Voice at PIPSC” portal:
“Electoral Platform - Fearless Advice: Harper era vs. Trudeau era” https://en.gorodnichy.ca/electoral-platform/fearless-advice
“Where is the highest Fear of Reprisal and Why?", Data Evidence for Discussion, May 2021 (Updated: July 2024)
“Evidence of Political Interference in Public Heath Agency of Canada (PHAC)
“Dehumanization Awareness project” & “No More Hate Campaigns!”
The deeper problem is that it’s not just Harper or the Conservatives, but all governments exert political pressures on scientists. And in fact, it was under the Liberals that the most serious violations of Scientific Integrity occurred—where the word "science" was misused to support political agendas shaped by Big Pharma and foreign industries and NGOs. Back in early 2000s Liberal government was involved in muzzling and firing scientists not willing to approve industry-lobbied GMOs and bovine growth hormones milk products. This is well documented in the "Corrupt to the Core" (2008) book that I wrote about here.
Now the government funds a lot of behavioural science research and mainstream media (CBC) to manipulate public opinion and hide inconvenient truths from Canadians in support of the government agendas and the interests of the same Big Pharma and foreign food industries and NGOs. I wrote about all of that in the articles listed above.
Regardless of the government in power, it is our duty—as Canadians like you and me—to keep pressing for transparency, accountability, and the inclusion of all scientific voices, not just those that align with the preferred political narrative.
Point 5: Learn to Recognize Propaganda (like we did in the USSR) – Don't let radio and the newsfeeds formulate your opinions!
You have to understand that most of what you hear on TV and radio is shaped by those who fund the news—and they shape it to influence how you think.
I grew up in the USSR, where newspapers and radio bombarded us daily with glowing patriotism and relentless disgust toward the West—especially the U.S. It worked to manipulate public perception. Now, Canadian mainstream media does the same with Trump, his administration, and Canadian citizens who supported the Freedom Convoy—many of whom were respected scientists and family-oriented citizens concerned about transparency and medical freedom. They were silenced and mocked by all mainstream media and all major parties (Liberals, NDP, Green), except the Conservatives, who at least had the courage to listen to them and the millions of Canadians who shared their concerns.
Following the latest U.S. election, all senior positions in Health and Food-related agencies in the U.S. are now held by scientists who were highly critical of the lockdowns, vaccine mandates, and the censorship of scientists imposed under the previous Biden administration . They are:
Dr. Marty Makary as Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner,
Dr. Jay Bhattacharya - the author of the Great Barrington Declaration, as National Institute of Heath (NIH) Director (I have an article about him here)
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK) as the new US Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), which is the highest position in the field of health, equivalent to the position is the Minister of Health Canada (I have article about him here and many quotes from him on IVIM.ca and @IVIM YouTube Channel)
In Canada we also have many scientists, who like their American counterparts have been silenced during the Freedom Convoy and afterwards by the Canadian government. These are Dr. Paul Alexander (former Trump advisor), Dr. Roger Hodkinson, Dr. Byram Bridle, Dr. Mark Trozzi, Dr. Shoemaker, Dr. Jessica Rose, Dr. Denis Rancourt, Dr. David Speicher, Dr. Regina Watteel, and many others who signed the already mentioned Great Barrington Declaration, The David Declaration, The Cape Byron Lighthouse Declaration, and the latest Canadian Open Letter: A Call to Halt the COVID-19 mRNA Vaccines. I’ll write more these great dedicated Canadian scientists, many of whom I had a chance to met personally, in one of my future articles
Imagine if their perspectives had been part of our public debate—instead of being dismissed as conspiracy theorists! Imagine if they will become Canada’s senior health officials instead of Teresa Tam and others following the change of government in Canada! It would change drastically how you see everything about pandemic and the influence of big pharma, foreign NGOs and billionaires like Bill Gates on national policies in Canada, which brought more harm than good to Canadians
Naturally, Canadian media, politicians, and even unions—those who once silenced and mocked these experts—are doing everything they can to block that kind of change. You won’t hear any positive stories about them or Trump. The radio and your newsfeeds will only show one-sided disgust, just like Soviet propaganda about the West or today’s Russian media on Ukraine. (And yes, my daughters are strong Ukraine supporters—the homeland of their parents.)
Point 6: Does This Candidate Really Stand for Your Principles?
Politicians will use beautiful words or ideas they can to earn your vote, but do they really live themselves according to the ideals they say they stand for?
Take the Green Party. How many Green politicians, do you think, are vegetarian or vegan like you? Do they drive eco-friendly compact cars? Avoid air conditioning year-round? Embrace natural health practices like Wim-Hof cold plunges, sport-based wellness, or minimal reliance on pharma solutions? We do—but do they? Politics is their job, their salary. Most don’t have the independent wealth to stand against Big Pharma or global industry pressures. Trump is a rare example.
I appreciate your commitment to living ecologically. You already walk the walk: you’re vegan, anti-luxury, a nature-lover. But we must also consider whether our candidates are also genuinely live according to our values and that of Canadians —or are they influenced by foreign organizations like the WEF or WHO.
Conservative leaders are the only ones who have openly criticized the WEF’s industry-driven influence on national policy (watch this short video below)
And by the way, here is another outcome of big-pharma influences on Canadian policies - Natural Health Products are being removed from Canadian stores. Learn more about the issue and what you can do to stop it.
New initiatives in Canada like "Political Scores" (politicalscorecards.ca) and "Our Principles" (www.ourprinciples.ca) now help track politicians' truthfulness and dedication to Canadian—not global—interests.
It is very important that you ask your candidate the FIVE questions that I discuss in the article below to ensure they genuinely represent your values—not just the interests of political elites, global organizations, or industry-driven agendas.
Point 7: Canada Is at a Crossroads. Which Canada You Want to Live in?
This is a turning point. The Canada you vote for now will shape the future.
Canada Version 1: One path leads to the kind of Canada shown in the first video below—open faces, joyful children playing outdoors, human connection, dialogue, and compassion. These were the faces and feelings expressed by millions of Canadians who supported the Freedom Convoy in 2022.
Canada Version 2: The other path leads to the Canada driven by propaganda, fear, and conformity—where faces are masked, voices are silenced, and decisions are made far from public scrutiny; where behavioural science and commercials (as in the first video below) are used to steer public opinion. People become so entrenched in imposed ideologies that they become intolerant to opposing view and suffer from their own decisions not realizing what caused it. For example, you’ll see multiple-times vaccinated individuals now openly share their struggles with Long Covid—yet they never dare suggest a possible link to vaccination. Or consider the tragic story of the activist mother who passionately promoted COVID vaccines for children—only to later endure the unimaginable grief of losing her own infant to this vaccine. (I recount her story in this article.)
The choice is yours: which of these two future visions of Canada do you want to live in?
Most importantly, whatever you decide—please vote! If you’re away on April 28th, vote in advance. Be proud to act as a Canadian who truly cares about the future of our country.
P.S.
Having finished this article, I doubt my daughter will actually read it beyond the first two points—she already knows those anyway. But if she does read it all the way to the end, there will be a little surprise for her there: she will see a photograph from our street showing both of our lawn signs, and showing also our maple tree that is now giving a full backet of maple sap each day, which both of love drinking so much.
Anyway, I’m grateful to her for asking me the question. Not many Canadians these days are even willing to talk politics with people who don’t share their political views. I wish all other families and close friends would not be afraid to ask such important questions and give a chance to others to express their views.
So far, we're the only house on the street with yard signs—and we’re glad to display them! They’re meant as an open invitation to our neighbours: let’s talk. And for anyone curious to learn more, we direct them to IVIM.CA—Dmitry’s portal, shown on the license plate of our car.
P.P.S.
I’ve made car stickers - like the ones shown below, showing the link to this article (IVIM.CA/ELECTION). If you wish one to be mailed to you, please let me know!
