Poll: How strong are your beliefs about the issues that polarized our country and the world?
It does not matter what anyone publishes, if you are not going to change your opinions anyway, right? Or it does?...
CORRECTION:
In yesterday’s post about Neil Young’s interview to CBC, I did not phrase my thoughts well enough - about what I think, Neil Young, was really trying to say... I've re-written them now. Please have a look. I clearly heard him putting emphasis on "everything else" that "the world are not talking about" and that “makes the world angry and divided". It was then the CBC program host who aimed to re-shape Neil's words into what he / CBC "wants to talk about”, which is climate change…
Dear readers of my newsletter,
I know that you come from very different backgrounds and have very different beliefs and opinions (I would even rather say, polarized and antagonistic to each other beliefs and opinions ) about what is happening in Canada, Ukraine and the World. I see it from some comments that I receive…
I know personally many of you, and I don’t know many others of you. And I’m grateful to all of you - for not hesitating sharing your comments with me, whatever side of the story you are on, whatever beliefs/opinions are. Please continue doing that - by commenting below the articles or via private communication at dg @ ivim.ca .
Seeing such polarized comments however, I start wondering - how strong or rigid, do you think, your beliefs / opinions are? Please help me to understand that, using the Poll below.
Think about your believes on the topics that have polarized Canada and the World so much in the past years (such as vaccines, masks, p(l)andemic, Russian war, Freedom convoy, sex education , climate change etc.), and rate the “rigidity” of your such beliefs/opinions using the following scale:
1 - Confident NO, very strong belief/opinion with no grain of doubt, something you dont think you will ever change in your lifetime
2 - Not confident NO, strong belief/opinion however with a grain of doubt or something that you may still challenge now or later
3 - not decided or you are not familiar with the topic
4 - Not confident YES,
5 - Confident YES
where YES relates to opinions/beliefs that coincide with the official main stream media narratives (i.e. CBC etc), and NO that do not.
Note the Poll is open for one week only. Thank you for particuipating!
A little confusing. Yes confident in beliefs? or no not confident in beliefs? Aren't 2 and 4 almost the same?
Shoot sorry I answered wrong - should been a 1 - sorry
